I was hoping to tell my best friend about my being trans before I start HRT and before I tell my parents, I feel that telling her would be less stressful then telling my parents and so i'd have some practice with it. Should I tell my parents first?

No, unless you know that your parents would be OK with it. It always is good to get support, the question is: do you want support coming out to your friend or your parents?

She's your best friend, right? And you being trans is who you are. Don't you think you'd feel better if your closest friend knew? Do you think she will judge you? She's your best friend for a reason.

Thanks for the advise, I think I'll tell my friend first it'll give me some practice with coming out, and I'll hopefully have somebody who already supports me when I decide to come out to my parents.
