I'm going abroad to eastern Europe in the fall. I am not completely out here but was hoping to be more there...how accepting are people in urban and touristy areas in Eastern Europe...anyone have a clue? :help:
Hi! It really depends to which countries you are going. Generally Eastern Europeans are less accepting. In fact in some Eastern European countries homosexuality is seen as a sin and in some countries there are still laws on the books against homosexuality. Having said this, what you could when you prepare for the trip, try finding some information on GLBT groups in the cities where you want to go. Some of them will have information on the best spots and safest areas to go. Hope this helps!
I might be able to tell you a bit more, if you tell us/me about what country/countries you are talking
Hi! As Corny mentioned, he might be able to help you a bit more with it. I'm not sure to which cities/places you want to go, but I have looked up some stuff. Here are a couple of links that might be useful to you: Bulgaria: http://www.informationbulgaria.com/gay_bulgaria.html http://www.gayguidebg.com/ Greece: http://www.gayguide.net/Europe/Greece/ However, I would caution you nevertheless, in particular in Bulgaria. I think Greece is a bit more open and a bit more accepting than Bulgaria. I think you should be fine in the larger Greek cities. Do you already have an idea as to where you want to go in Bulgaria and Greece? Let me or us know, and I or we might be able to give you a bit more specific information. Hope this helps!
