Ok, first off, this isn't a joke, so please try to take me seriously. It has been my dream for a very long time to be a stripper, it's something I really want to do during college as my job. Y'all know, those police strippers who go to birthday parties and other events, that's what I want to do. So, I just found out two days ago that there are classes in town that offer stripping lessons to people like me who want to learn. But no one really believes that I'm serious about it. Everytime I tell someone that I want to be a stripper, they just laugh it off as just another one of my ridiculous jokes. My question is, how do I get people to take me seriously about being a stripper? I signed up for the classes already and everything, but everyone keeps laughing it off as a joke.
Get a gig and invite people to watch you. Or show them some of your moves when you learn them so they know you mean business!
Why not contact a few strippers and find out how they got into the business, and how they feel about it now that they're in it? And do double check that "stripping class". I know a few of those in my town, as well, but they're either "burlesque dancing" (not the same as stripping) or "how to strip for your mate" (also probably not the same thing). Lex
Sounds like fun ...I mean, if you're comfortable with your body, and like showing it off, more power to you! I think the classes would be a good idea, and those people would probably be able to give you the names of agencies in that industry and go from there. Good luck with it
Give em' a free show... that will shut em' up. I think it would be fun and interesting, I wouldn't mind going to a stripper class. I don't think I could do it for a living, but it would be fun to learn and be a hot turn on in the bedroom. Until you start doing it as a profession, I think most people will continue to dismiss it, as a lot of people do use that as a joke. Might just have to come to GA for my next birthday party now
If that is what you want to do then go ahead and do it, don't worry what others say or think. As time goes by and they see you going to the classes and then getting a job they will soon change their tunes. Often laughter at this sort of thing is more embarassement than anything else... typical schoolboy snickering sort of thing. Your mates will soon see that you can make good money as a male stripper, and have fun doing it. I think it would be a good idea to get some advice from some professionals to find out the pit falls and what you need to avoid and how to protect yourself if a situation gets out of hand. It depends really if you are talking about stripping in a club or in private parties and again if you were thinking of working for an agency or doing it freelance.
Could you imagine family reunions? Aunt Lucy: "So Perry, what are you up to now?" Perry: (nonchalantly) "I'm a male stripper." -dead silence-
It can be worse. There's a guy I know who has to answer "I help run a gay porn company." But he says it proudly - he loves his work. Lex
oh yeah that's liek my summer story. "hey ash wut did you do this summer" "oh i hurt myself pole dancing for my grandma" -0.0 INTENSE LAUGHTER- lol nd the story behind it isnt as funny. i was helping the emt's get her on the backboard nd i got to much moment and slamed into a very large concrete pole. but yeah dude if they r laughing at u as a joke. just MAKE them understand. get one of those tones in ur voice nd be liek im serious! nd if they r laughing at u...they rnt very good friends
I definetly want to do private shows, but working in a club would be fine with me too. I guess it all depends on where I could find work. And it would definitely have to be for an agency, doing all that freelance stuff would be too time consuming for me as a college student. The people who are teaching the classes are actual professionals, all three of them are female strippers at various clubs in the area. Let me tell you, they know what they're doing. If I could get to be as good as them, I'd be set in the lap dance/poll department. Lol, the best part is that I'm not the only guy there! The other guy wants to take the classes so he could perform for his "wife." I'm not sure how many straight guys go and take stripping lessons just to entertain their wives.
That's a good idea! I should have a secret code that gets people a free dance. Like, if you whisper "Emptyclosets" in my ear or something. :icon_bigg
