Hi, I'm 13 and a lesbian. My grandparent's are Catholic, Conservative, Republican's and I don't know how they would react to my Lesbianism, but I really want to come out to them. How do I do this? -LadyLover (!)
I would ask the question why do you really want to come out to them when you don't think the reaction is going to be positive? Usually we come out to people when doing so improves our situation. I wonder if this will be the case for you.
I think Jim1454 has a point, if you feel that by coming out to them is 2 steps forward but their reaction is 4 steps back then maybe it's not a good idea. But if you really want to do it then having your super cool mom there with you should soften the blow. whatever you decide, good luck
Lol 'lesbianism'. The way I came out to my grandparents was that I told my grandma first. She was really excepting and told my grandfather. Thinks are just the same as they used to be with my grandparents and I love them very much. I hope it works out.
