My friend's cousin is gay, and she's had a long term girlfriend for about a year now. They were incredibly happy and in love, according to my friend. The cousin was totally out to her (my friend's) family, but the girlfriend was not out at all. Someone at their school (they're both about 17) found out about their relationship, and told the girlfriend's parents, who have gone totally mental against their daughter and forbidden her from ever seeing her girlfriend again. They're of the "lesbianism is evil and sick" vein :icon_sad: I think the girlfriend is planning to move out and live with my friend's cousin as soon as she leaves school, but it's all up in the air.

This just makes me so sad. Why can't all parents be as loving and accepting as Becky, Louise &co? Why make your own child so needlessly unhappy?

  2. That is very sad. It's a shame too because there's needless drama caused by overreacting towards something they don't understand. I hope it all works out for them =\

This is sad. I hope everything will turn out well for them.

  9. Sad indeed. I've heard about something like this before, where students or staff out gay people. Why do they even care? Can't they just focus on their own life instead of making people miserable? It makes me angry and sad at the same time :tantrum:

I can't remember their exact ages, it could 18. Besides, the legal age of consent for sex is 16 in Britain.

Can the girlfriend not get some resources for her parents and try to educate them? She could download pamphlets or buy books and ask her parents to at least do her the honour of reading them before comdemning her out of ignorance.

That's so sad and terrible. Every time I read something likethat, I feel so lucky that my parents are as accepting as they are.
