I'm not out at all. I was in a nightclub with my friend and saw a guy I'd been seeing for a while. I was very drunk and thought she had left and ended up leaving the nightclub holding hands with him. She sent me a text today to say she saw me coming out of the club. I'm not ready to come out and I'm still confused so I said that as I thought she had left and he was a friend I was catching a taxi back with his housemates so I didnt have to pay the full fare on my own. This has thrown me upside down.. but I know I'm not ready to come out yet.
Well ask "why didn't you say hi? I thought you left?" See how she responds. Maybe she doesn't want to outright ask you or something but she might be supportive or curious. Test her tone.
The closet is pretty uncomfortable, isn't it? She is giving you an easy opportunity to come out to her, and is apparently OK with your being gay. Think about it; friends that are allies are good to have.
