I'm entering a short story contest and I was thinking that I could Wright about the struggles that a gay or lesbian teen has to go through, and I know my mom will ask me 'how did you get the inspiration to wright about this?' And that's when I will tell her "mom I wrote this story with inspiration from my life, because I'm gay"
    Any thought? Advice?

If you're going to do this (and it sounds like an awesome idea) just keep in mind what you are writing. If your mum has caused you any struggles, this might not be the way she wants to learn about it!!

I thought about that, but she's never caused me struggles so I think it will work perfectly :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Then go for it, if you're comfortable doing so. Sounds like a great idea.
