Today was my first day of college orientation, & even though I don't feel I'm ready as the guilt of my mother & some other family not knowing holds me back, as the topic came up, I told them. It didn't even feel weird & they treated it as normal. I told a group of 4 girls. Nice girls! I have told many people, but none of whom I met within one day. Just felt the need to share, can't say I don't feel a little proud!
Congrats!(*hug*) College is one of the best places to come out. You pretty much start a whole new life in college, and meet new people, which is the perfect time to just be honest when you meet them.
I wish I could have gone away for college, in no small part so I could do what you just did. You'll remember that for the rest of your life and smile.
Part of me really regrets not going to a public university rather than a small Christian college. I don't like big schools and long walks, but I would think there would be better opportunities to meet people. I don't know. The good thing is I have no debt.
