A few will remember I posted in another section that my mum was becoming an LGBTQ youth counsellor/ therapist....I (spontaneously) told her yesterday about my gay-ness after she had the interview. She said that she knew by the time I was about 9 (same sort of age that I realised it too) and that was partially why she was choosing this line of work. She told me that she loved me and was proud of me for coming out, and hugged me. She left me a note after I got ready for bed that night saying; "I love you & I'm proud of you everyday, every step, remember I will always be behind you to support you." which is now taped to the wall next to my bed. I cried with happiness. I am so bloody blessed to have someone so wonderful in my life. I am sorry if this seems selfish, I just can't believe that I am so lucky to have a mum like her. #thefeels
I'd be just as proud for your parent. She handled that perfectly and this is easily one of the most loving and thoughtful responses to coming out I've ever seen. You're so lucky to have her in your life! Congratulation on taking a massive step, we're all really proud of you. (*hug*)
This is so cute I love it. My parents are v supportive but the fact she chose her line of work for you! That's an amazing parent!
That's great. My parents are supporting of LGBTQ+ rights, but I doubt they'll take me seriously at first... Your mother is a great person, and you're a great daughter for appreciating her and sharing with us!
