Do you remember/mark the day you came out?

My plan on coming out to my mom...

On Christmas, I'll text her and say. " I'm bisexual. Merry Christmas!!"

 

Congratulations on coming out more completely!

I'd normally do that sort of thing - keep track of special dates, etc, but I didn't. I don't even remember who I told first. Something traumatic happened with my parents that could have disrupted my memory.

If things don't go as well as you think, you might regret picking that date. Your family will have the association too. Are they planning something special for your birthday?

I tend to over-analyze, so feel free to ignore me.

 

I do remember! Mine was June 1st, 2014. It was when I came out fully. I did come out to my mom earlier, around May 27-29, 2014.

I think doing it on a date you will remember is a great idea. It hadn't really occurred to me to commemorate it until I read your post--now I wish I could and while I remember every detail of the conversation with my mother which was the first time I told anyone I was gay I don't know the date. Now I kind of wish I did.

 

February 11, 2014 - That's the day that I first came out to someone, one of my best friends (I later found out that she's bisexual, so it wasn't like she could have judged me). That day will definitely stay in the back of my mind forever, but I probably would only have some sort of personal celebration for when I come out to everyone, if I have any sort of celebration.

I came out to my closest friends sometime in february of 2014. Then i came out to my cass on March 29, 2014. I remember it because it was the last day of third quarter in school. I think that picking an actually important date would be cool. But, my personal thought, would not to do it on a birthday because if there is a negative reaction, thats what youll associate the day with, instead of the good things associated with that day. Either way, i wish u the best of luck on whatever day u choose.:icon_bigg

 

Thursday the 23rd of October, 2014, far more positive reaction than expected. My friend got denial, and it didn't help his self esteem.

 

I don't even ... umm april this year ... not really sure about the day.

 

I came out to a good friend on 17th of October, 2014. I don't think I will celebrate that date. I will probably mark the date I come out to my family and the rest of my friends.

 

I don't remember the exact date of when I first came out. It was actually around April, to a bisexual friend whom I asked for advice for coming out.
But he remained the only one to know for a couple of month before I told all of my close friends, on June 5, 2013 ! This is the date I remember as my "official" coming out ... And now almost everybody knows (except for my familly)

 

I actually came out slowly over a period of about 3 years. I came out initially as pansexual, then I told my mom and dad that I liked girls more than boys, then I finally came out as a lesbian. Then my parents told my grandparents. Then my parents told my little sister. I am still in the closet in terms of my gender identity as my parents are very loving of people with different sexual orientations but, extremely intolerant of people who fall outside of the gender binary, especially if it's their own child.

 

I first came out on October 4th of 2012, but didn't come out to the bulk of my family until later that winter. Not sure exactly when, just that there was snow on the ground. Probably wouldn't remember the October date either if it wasn't also one of my dog's birthday.

 

October 11th coincidentally also National Coming Out Day.

 

Um I think it was sometime in September of this school year...don't really care about the exact date because I continually choose people to come out to, I don't tell every freaking person.

 

June 3rd 2014. to my friend and september 10 to my mom..

 

June 2, 2013 as bi. I just have an inner celebration, since only one person socially knows.
