I'm so proud of my son!

    My son has been struggling with coming out for a while now - I've known for a while now(I should say I suspected), but except for general comments about acceptance, love, blah, blah,blah, kept quiet and waited for him to make the move. Yesterday he did.

    It was just a quick thing, "BTW, I'm gay" but still - he did it. What a step to take! As a straight person in a "straight" world, this is something I can only imagine how difficult it must be. We talked briefly, nothing too deep, but he now knows that I know, and still love him, and it doesn't change a thing. He's still the same young man he was before he said anything, chores still have to be done and life goes on.

    Am I babbling? Maybe - I tend to do that - all of this writing to say that I am proud of my son for his courage to say it out loud. :eusa_clap

    It does take alot of courage to come out and its wonderful for these kids to have loving supportive moms who will accept them for who they are! Yeah Mom and welcome to Empty Closets!

    I remember you posting here before - a while ago.

    Great to see that he finally decided to come out - and to do so in a way that certainly appears to indicate that he knew it would be 'no big thing' to you.

    ummmmm hi im comeing out to my parents tommarow and im really nervous and i hope my mom is like you i mean she has asked a couple of times if i was gay but i always said no ahhhhhhhh
