How did you come out?

3 through message and 1 in person. It all went amazing!

 

Direct (in person), but if I was doing it all over again I would use letters for some people.

 

Texts with my friends, and i talked with my family

 

First time when I was 18, it was direct, in person, no letters or anything to use as a crutch. After the horrid reaction from family, I withdrew back into the closet for 23 years.

Second and final time I came out almost a year ago, was again direct, in person, but I had written a letter to my wife that I read instead of speaking off-the-cuff. While that was painful for us both in many ways, it certainly crystallized the underlying problems in our marriage (on both sides) that we had chosen to not deal with for far too long.

 

I came out directly to my friends.

 

So far, I've only came out to two people and did it through text. It went well. I plan on doing it in person with my family.

 

Directly in person to most people.I voted letter tho cos the first time i ever came out was by letter.Funnily enough,it was to the person im closest too.If i was doing it all again now,id tell her face to face

 

Virtually every time in person, at least with close friends & family. My first 2 times were confrontations by others asking if I was. Then with a few others close to me I asked them if they had a minute to talk.

 

In person to my closest friends and family then online to everyone I knew. Thankfully I have had no problems so far!

 

I came out in I think October... I had handed the letter directly to my mother, and I ran upstairs, but she soon called me downstairs and we talked... I love her so much for accepting me! But I also am annoyed I can't go to the trans meeting I wanted to tomorrow because I have to give my dog I absolutely love a forever home... He is MY dog, but they can't keep him.

1st person: My wife!! I broke down crying and told her.
2nd My Brother: in an argument - that stopped the argument.
No.s 3,4 &5 via group text.
Everyone else: she outed me with my consent!

All reactions were good.

 

When it came to friends I told them directly. I told my parents over the phone.

 

Direct as in the fact that it was in person, but I never actually said it. I just beat around the bush and he figured out what I was trying to say. I guess I got lucky. I planned on just saying I'm not straight, but I couldn't even get that out..

 

I told every single person in person.

 

Well when I came out the first time, I was going to do it in person, but I chickened out and texted them. I've told everyone else in person though.

 

The first time I said anything about my sexuality was when I was 13. I just straight up came out.

 

I came out in person to an LGBT group at my university. Everyone there was pretty welcoming and accepting. No complaints

 

I didn't really come out, my internet history outed me to my mother :/
