okay. I have just been texting my birth father about "No on Prop 8", and then he said something about being black and living in the south during jim crow... my birth father is 32 and white. so I freaked out, thought I had been talking to a random stranger and had the wrong number. so I asked him who he was, and without saying my name I said "I'm 16 and in college..." but then he texted back and said "Hey honey. Oh my gosh i didnt know it was u!I thought u were a random person looking 4 votes! So I was totally messing with u just 4 fun! How r u?" and now we're talking about random stuff. but he was getting really hardcore, and being super homophobic (I'm not out to him, btw). should I take that as him messing with someone he thought was a complete stranger, or could he really be that much of a bigot? I know he's Catholic, and raised really religious, but I mean, he got my birth mother pregnant when they were both 16, so it's not like he's that devout...
hmmm :/ maybe he just wanted to cheese off the person who was "looking for votes" caus thats what he thought wasnt it dont worry about it <3
Don't let it bother you. I mess with people that call me randomly too. Start your text messages in future with "Hi Dad - it's xxxx"
haha thank you everyone! turns out he did vote YES ( ) but that's his choice... although it's the wrong one! and to sdc91: he's my birth father, i was adopted. so we see each other once or twice a year. :icon_bigg
