So yeah it's basically what the title says. We've been friends since first grade, and I've gone to church with his family several times (which has an anti-lgbt stance by the way). I really want to tell him that I like him but I'm so scared!
If you're going to come out to him, under the circumstances, it may be best to just tell him you're gay and hold off on the liking him part
I just talked to him today (I did not come out to him yet), and while he himself is lgbt friendly, the rest of his family is not. I just don't want us to not be friends anymore If I come out to him and His family finds out.
You have to be courageous and tell this friend of yours. A true friend won't care, and he should feel honored that you told him.
