Congratulations!!! you've got a great dad, and you are a very courageous man. You should be very proud of each other, and thankful for the relationship that you share.
I may have spoke too soon.... He didn't say anything the next morning, but was up uncharacteristically early and started smoking before noon. I may never know what I "did" as my family tends to squash emotions.
