Hey guys! I wanted to know if this is a good coming out letter, as I am planning to come out soon. I know that my friends are accepting of the LGBT+ community, so I don't have to worry about that really. But I just wanted some feedback on if this is a good letter, or if I should add or remove anything. Anyways, here it is! [friend's name], How would you feel if you had a friend who was part of the LGBT+ community? How would you feel if I told you that you do? How would you feel if I told you that friend is me? So, as you probably guessed by now, I’m not straight. You might think I’m gay, and I kind of am. Allow me to explain. I’m a panromantic lesbian. So I know that you know what lesbian means, but you probably don’t know what panromantic means. Explanation: Panromantic means that I can be emotionally/romantically attracted to people of any gender, but for me specifically, I like girls better. And on top of that, I’m a lesbian, as I already mentioned. Please don’t tell anyone unless I ask you to, and please be here for me if I need to talk. You are the first person I’m coming out to, so I’m pretty much dragging you into the rest of my coming out journey… Yeah. If you ever want to talk about it, make sure that the only people around are people who I already came out to, which at the moment, is no one (except you). I guess that’s it for now! If you have any additional questions or comments, I’m here to talk right now. Wish me luck (and maybe help me) on the rest of my coming out journey! Your panromantic lesbian friend, [my name] So what do you think? Wish me luck on coming out! Thanks for reading :icon_bigg
I think it's a very good letter. You explain your orientation very well and you tell your friend to talk to you openly if he or she wants to. Maybe you could add the reasons why you come out to that person (because he or she is important for you, because you trust him or her, etc). But it's OK as it is Good luck!! I hope everything will be OK
Thanks for the feedback! I'm gonna try to come out this week or next week, before my spring break ends. I hope you have a nice day!
