I'm gonna come out to my mom tonight. I know there are a million threads to this effect, but Everyone has a diffrent situation right? I'm not worried about my mom rejecting me or anything like that. You hear of these kids that have been kicked out of their houses for coming out to their parents, and that would never happen with her. We've had conversation after conversation about gay rights, I have a gay best friend who she calls her second son, and she supports gay marriage. She's a great woman, and she loves me no matter what. The worst case scenario is that she thinks I'm going through a phase, and I can handle that. I'll just say that that might be so, but This is where/who I am right now. I'm going to clean the house and vaccum and whatnot and get her in a good mood. The only thing I kinda need help on is how to start it up. When I came out to my sister, I was so awkward that she though I was trying to tell her I was pregnant. I don't want that experience again. Should I try and "Mom I need to tell you something" or is that too serious? Guhh confuzzled. :help:
I'm not an expert on this kind of thing, but I just wanted to say congrats on making this announcement! I feel for you --- I'm coming out to a friend tomorrow. Like I said, I'm unsure how to start it up, but I'm sure someone around here does Just check for moods and decide what will work best given the situation. Good luck!
well i told my mom on the computer but dont follow after me i ended up going back in the closet and telling my mom that i wasnt ugh but no i dont think it sounds to serious
I think that would work, or something like "Mom, can i tell you something?" That sounds a little less serious I think.
Okay. That sounds good. A simple "Mom do you have a minuite?" I think will work. She's gonna be home in a few. I'll either be on later or tomorrow to say how it all went. Thanks guys. Wish me luck!
Good luck. If it goes well, I'll start thinking about coming out to my parents soon. And if THAT goes well, then I'll still have my computer and I'll be able to tell you how it went, and I'll also stop being so anonymous.
