I don't know if this technically falls under support and advice, but I'm not sure where else to post this. I just wanted to have it written somewhere that I have submitted my first 3 college applications, and I feel like dancing! :eusa_danc I'm still really worried though. My top 3 schools (the ones I just submitted to) are really competitive, like Ivy League competitive. I think that I am great candidate for these schools because I'm passionate and really hard working. I'm devoted to my extra-curricular activities and have a strong/challenging transcript. BUT is that going to make me any less neurotic about it? No. lol *deep breaths* I think I'm to go dance around my room now, whether it's out of excitement or anxiety, I'm not sure. :smilewave
cool--what schools are you applying to out of curiousity? I'm at a liberal arts school and absolutely loving it. good luck!
My top choice is Brown University in Rhode Island, I love it there, and it's a really good fit for me. I like UVa as well, plus the in-state tuition is a great deal, and it's still a great school. My third one is Harvard. It's my third mostly because it's so selective to get in, I really like it there as well. I'm applying to 3 or 4 more colleges which I don't like quite as much, but would still be interested in attending (Cornell, William & Mary, and James Madison).
I applied to Brown too! It was my first choice, but ultimately I didn't end up there. Have you heard of or considered Vassar in Poughkeepsie, NY? When I went there, many of the students seemed very similar to Brown students and I liked the atmosphere. it's a lot smaller (like 2300 students or sthg) but cool. I'm actually at Pomona College now, in CA. Anyway, good luck with everything! That sounds like a great list of schools and I hope everything goes for the best for you.
devushka: I did get some stuff from Vassar, it sounded like a cool place. I really liked Brown when I visited, and I love the open curriculum Thanks for wishing me luck everyone! (I can't believe I'm going to have to wait until APRIL to hear anything!)
Just remember the first rule of college acceptance: Big package in mail - good. Small letter in mail - bad. Lex
Lex: that's not necessarily true. I had them flopped. I got a big one that said i didn't make it into the music conservatory at BW and then a small one that accepted me at UD. Didn't go to either, but still.
