I guess I am rushing a bit but I just want to get it over and done with since I told 2 of my friends and it does feel great. So I think I'm going to tell my parents. I know for shor they will be excepting because my mum has suspicions about me and has asked me questions about my sexuality, but I usually lie. She surely supports the lgbtq commumity watches a TV series called the fosters its about to moms(lesbian) raising foster children one of the foster children is gay. So. I know she would be supportive but I guess I have very bad courage and usually go quite when I try to say something about my sexuality.

    Hey shyboy123,

Have you considered writing a letter and asking her to read it?

    Hugs

Sounds like your parents are pretty cool, you sound pretty motivated about telling them. Maybe you could wait until after she finishes watching The Fosters and tell your mom first. Ask her if she has a moment and jus tell her. Just an idea, which ever way you tell them good luck!

Hi there, and welcome to Empty Closets!

From what you have described it sounds like that your mom would be supportive and that nothing would change. It is possible that your mom already has the feeling that you might not be straight.

I like Chiroptera's idea of writing a letter. Writing a letter might help you in organising your thoughts and what you would like to say to your mom. Writing your thoughts out, could also help you in gaining that last bit of courage to talk with your mom in person. If you wanted to, have a read through the Coming Out Letters in the Resource Section. Maybe there is a letter that will help you in starting to formulate your own, if you decide to write one.
