I have this fear of my family knowing my sexuality before I'm ready to tell them. Has many people had their family and friends admit they already knew or suspected once they came out?
There's a saying that "mothers always know." I don't think that's literally true, but it does seem like a lot of parents (and often close friends) do know, or strongly suspect, long before they're told. I wouldn't stress about it. If they know/suspect, then they know or suspect. If they don't, they don't. It shouldn't really change how you move forward.
My parents thought I was a lesbian, and both my brother and a friend of mine think that I'm asexual, so even though none of them are actually right, people can tell there's something different about me I guess.
Well she said once I painted my nails and I liked to watch Gilmore girls with her she said after that she just knew.
One of my friends suspected, but only because I wanted her to know and had been deliberately blatant. I tried to drop hints with my mother, but got tired of it and told her. Since I'd only dated guys 'til then, it came as a shock to her. So yeah, she didn't know.
