Deffinatly iTunes. Or a CD or book if there's a certain one he wants.

    Whipped cream! *wink*

No, no, seriously, itunes gift card or book make the most sense. A tie, maybe? It's hard to say, "I really care about you" in under ten pounds. Unless you make him something that appears to be worth more than that.

Well he's a stereotypical performing artist if that makes it easier. He loves musicals but yet he's handy with computers aswell...

An artist ehh? Just as long as you don't go all picaso and cut your ear off for him he'll probably love anything. but seriously, Itunes.

    Make him a Mix-CD! Rofl...

(Im such a sucker for a Mix-CD, i love how each song on the Cd is like an emotion, and they all tie together into one big bundle to make almost a story <3 or so my lameness likes to think!)

...but that could come off strong  Add like, a dead bunny to the front to throw him off

Oh oh! Avenue Q! And Jersey Boys, those are some good musicals. Rent could really be pushing it: "You be my king, and I'll be you castle!" Not much clearer than that.
