Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeello! I haven't been on EC in a while, and I'm getting back into things! So basically, here is the basic run down: I am out to all of my friends and close family, except my dad. Everyone I'm out to supports me 'n stuff. My mom and dad are divorced, so half the week I'm at my mom's, and the other I'm at my dad's. My dad is deeply rooted into his Christian beliefs that being Gay is a sin, and so is being transgender. I'm terrified to tell him. Once I do though, I can express myself be a lot more open. Pretty much OUT OF THE CLOSET! Recently, my friend Zephyr came out to him, and he took it very well! He try's to use his name and pronouns! Which is so awesome and hope for me. I just want to move out immediately as I do though. But it's not up to me. Not until I'm 18. I need help? Should I keep on waiting till I'm 18? I can't wait much longer. That's 2 years and 1 month away! I don't know if he would make me live with him, or give me a choice, or even then, what would really happen? He handled Zephyr well... The sooner I do this, the sooner I will be happier in general.
Well it's tricky, but I would say tell him. It is much harder to predict how a parent will react to there child coming out as transgender, than as gay. A parent you can expect to react horribly can be very supportive and a parent you expect to take it in stride can disown you over it. But you have the cushion of your Mom being divorced and with partial custody of you being fine with it, so I say go ahead and tell him! Good luck!
I did it. I feel like I'm going to throw up. He said: "I love you, I'm not mad or angry at you. There is a lot to think about. I will see you tomorrow. Love you" EEEEE I DID IT
That's great! *hugs you* I'm glad he was accepting. Judging by that reaction, you're going to be totally fine with a very supportive dad I'm so happy for you I definitely think we should have a little party! (!)(!)(!)(!)(!)(!)(!)(!)(!)(!)(!)(!)(!)(!)(!)(!)(!)(!)(!)(!)(!)(!)(!)(!)(!)(!)(!)(!)(!)
(!)(!)(!)(!)congrats, hope it all works out for you.. I wish I had the chance to tell my folks when they were alive , but I didn't know back then... (!)(!)(!)(!)(!)(&&&) good luck..
Thank you guys it means a lot! I'm not actually sure he'll be too "supportive" but I think he might try to respect me and maybe try to use my pronouns :icon_bigg
