I'm going to Japan on the 26th with my school, and I was wondering if like coming out through a letter would be better then telling my parents directly~?~! But I'll be gone for a week so they really won't be able to talk to me about it~?~? Would that be the right thing to do, or am I not taking their feelings for granted~?
i would tell them personally. ive read the stories about parents getting angry that the kid wrote to them and left. not saying yours would definately get angry, but its better (and maybe tougher, not gonna lie) to tell them in person.
I agree. If you just write them a letter and depart you're going to seem cowardly and they might not like the other message you send which would probably be: "I couldn't tell you in your face," because: A) You were too scared. B) You were afraid I would hate you. C) You're taking the easy way out. D) Did you really think I'd not love you still? Things like that could annoy the parent more than actually telling them. Just my 2cents.
