So my family is Catholic and they are very old school. I was wondering for advice on how to come out to them when I decide to come out to them. They want to raise me a certain way but I am breaking all their stereotypes. I am a part of the stereotypes that they don't wan me to be associated with.

I was thinking about coming out in a letter. But I don't know if it's the best thing after considering how they react to letters from family.

More ways to come out that I should know?

I prefer the old-fashioned way of telling them in person, as long as you're prepared to face any possible reaction you might get.

I agree with this statement. I feel that it's such a personal thing that it would be best to be done in person.

It is however your decision. If you feel that a letter would be the best way for you, there are a few sites that give some advice (not sure if posting one would violate EC Code of Conduct), just use Google it and stuff is sure to pop up.
