So a few weeks ago, I met a nice guy at a local cafe. We both attend the same school but don't share any classes, so I didn't know them at the time. We realized that we have similar interests, so we friended each other online and have been messaging since then. It turns out this guy is actually in charge of an LGBT organization at my school and has a strong opinion on LGBT rights. Usually I wouldn't consider coming out to another person (My parents forbid it), but I feel like he is a trustworthy person. I've already offered to help him with parts of the GSA, and he is well aware that I can't be directly active in it because of my grandparents. Does it make sense to come out to him as gay? He might also be gay, I don't know for sure.
I don't really see any problem with coming out to him. After all, he is at the very least an LGBT ally and should be accepting of it. I think that it is important for us LGBT individuals to be around accepting or like-minded people in order to have some sanity and well-being in our life.
