I want to get a gift for my husband to celebrate our coming out (still him at this time MtF trans, and me as bi-gender) to our immediate families, which we figure may happen by mid-February. This could also be a Valentine's Day thing.

He's not going to be out at work or socially at least for a while, which will happen when or if physical changes make it impossible for him to not come out. He works for a school district so being outed could cause issues.

I'd like to do something girly, matching for him and I, something meaningful but not expensive and something he could easily hide under his clothing at work and other situations. Would matching split heart necklaces be appropriate, or is that too generic “couples” jewelry? Most of the designs I've seen have a heavier chain to indicate the “male” side. What if they were both feminine delicate chains?

Any other ideas for us to celebrate in a romantic way?
