So I'm out to one friend but feel ready to start coming out to more people. How do I ask them to not go telling everyone without sounding rude or like I don't trust them not to spread it?

There are some people I'd have no issue just telling straight that I'd like to be the one to tell others but other people I think could take offence. Any ideas how to discuss this with them? It feels quite important to me to have some control about who knows at least initially.

    Could you say something like:

I've just started telling people and I'm still getting used to this so if you wouldn't mind not sharing this just yet, I'd appreciate it.

I don't think anyone would begrudge you this. You might also mention that you have some specific people you still need to tell so their discretion would really mean a lot to you.

Congrats on your first coming out!
