The exact same way someone can like 2 boys or girls (depending on orientation) at the same time. They both have something that you look for, and that you find yourself attracted to.

There is a lot of literature out there that suggest one's sexual orientation is not fixed but fluid. You could think of romantic/sexual feelings as a continuum. A majority of the population actually falls some where in the middle. Due to social stigma and discrimination people fear admitting to their feelings and attractions for the same sex or opposite sex- depending on they identify their primary orientation. We are taught from such a young age that we must be attracted to one or the other (most cases) the opposite sex. This learning is so ingrained that we create psychological schema's to enforce those beliefs. I guess what I am trying to convey is, is that your feelings are not abnormal. People are people and love transcends labels. This is what I usually tell clients of mine who are struggling with sexual orientation issues. I hope this was helpful. Cheers, Blair
