    Hello EC, again,

I havent been on in a while because of work and stuff like that but i have been reading and keeping up with the rest of your threads...

So, if any of you read my coming out post you will know that i am fresh out of the closet (two months tomorrow night) and am just now getting comfortable in my new 'gay' me

During this process i have began to figure out what kind of guys i like, and what kind of guys i think i would like to have a relationship with.

What i have realised is that my type of man is......................................STRAIGHT.

Does anyone else suffer from this, or am I the only fool who goes after the forbidden fruit?

    Thanks

    -Trev

    No,

I just want a man that loves me more than he loves himself. I don't really think straight guys are attractive (this doesn't count the ones that I feel gaydar towards), but just straight guys. They aren't my type.

My type of gay guys are the ones that look gay and hot at the same time. I just love gay guys, they are beautiful.

But I am open for all gay guys- they don't need to be that hot, they can be ugly fat and old. That's why I am there for to make it balance because I can make 10 ugly guys average with my looks. I can see myself dating a gay circus freak (if he has it all up there mentally).

But straight guys aren't worth my time, because they are straight and are not on the same mindpath I am on. They probably become gay for me temporarily, but I'll never be gay for a straight guy.

oh i guess i should have clarified....

i like gay men, but it just so happens that the ones i find myself attracted to turn out to be straight, then the attraction goes away for obvious reasons!

It's okay if you like straight guys. I think its because people stereotype straight guys as more masculine than a gay guy. In a gay guy you associate more feminine qualities, and you're gay so you want a real man=straight guy.

Society does that kind of brainwashing to people

    Girls are the same way.
I'm not really drawn in by the "butchy" girls... although as friends, it's all good.
I'm more attracted to more feminine girls.. but it seems like they're all straight!
And if they were gay, I wouldn't know.. and they probably wouldn't know I was.
Ahh... just think of all the missed opportunities...

There's a reason why porn with "straight guys" is one of the hottest niches out there right now... and that's because I suspect it's most gay guy's fantasy to seduce a hot straight guy and... um...

But to your specific question, yes, a lot of people experience that, and perhaps part of it is also not having your "gaydar" fine tuned yet. As you spend more time around people, you'll be able to pick out the "straight-acting" gay guys a lot more easily. In the meantime, hey, looking and yearning can be fun, right?

^ most of those "straight" guys in porn are really gay guys acting straight for a fantasy

Different from gay for pay though

When you consider that a huge percentage of guys are straight, it makes sense that you often find yourself attracted to straight guys. If nine out of ten guys are straight, it's reasonable that most guys you notice and find attractive would be straight.

    I kind of understand.

I prefer men who aren't camp.

    Which is straight people.
For every gay person i know is camp as christmas.

Although bi people are rarely camp...oddly enough.

Dude, I know exactly what you mean. I've only liked one gay guy my entire life, its like some horrible disease or something. It isn't that you choose to like them and not to like gay men, its just crappy luck of whom you end up liking. Its not your fault, we can't control who we like. If we could then this entire forum wouldn't exist.

I've noticed that too. Every Bi-guy I've come across has been masculine and very sweet. I instantly crush on them ASAP for some reason.

Agreed Mr Pepsi. (Ryan right?) It's absolutely terrible. I live in a college town and a very high percentage of the gay guys here are queen-ish or far too stereotypical. There was only one gay guy I've met that I've actually had interest in. But he lives so very far away and I don't know him very well. Only well enough to know I can't trust him, sadly. Very good point though.

Which is funny because straight women say about men "All the good ones are either gay or taken."
