I think its fair enough to say everyone should know about the clearing cookies, history and cache ect. But what else is there to do after that? Because theres still info around that could easily be found by someone serching on your computer.

    Heres 3 I found.

    1. You're popup blocker. I just had a look at mine and long and behold, emptyclosets.net/.com was there.

    2. With MSN there is a folder that you dont know about that is created with your email address and it has weird files inside it. (C:/>Documents and Settings>User>Contacts. Then your email is there) I think theres another too but I'm unsure.

    3. Recently open files. Make sure you delete them! (Right click on the taskbar (at the bottom of the screen) go to properties then go to start menu tab, then click on customize, click on advanced and then click on clear list.

Remember when deleting your history to try to only delete specific sites, not the whole list. It looks suspicious to have your entire history gone, and might send someone snooping further.

Also, try if you can to use a different browser than the rest of the people in your house. Nobody's going to accidentally stumble upon anything this way.

Also, for the love of god, turn off auto-complete forms.

Windows media player keeps a history by default, but you can turn it off in options -> privacy. It's a good idea to turn this off and use this as your default media player if your looking at certain videos that you don't want others to stumble across

I don't have to worry about hiding what I look at on the internet because I'm out to everybody who I live close to and I live alone and have my own computer so I really don't care if someone finds stuff that would tell them I'm gay.

If you're using firefox, deleting an item from history also deletes it from the address bar, so you don't have to worry about it.

www.eusing.com << there, Free Internet Window Washer.

You can also use a Linux Live CD if you're computer-savvy - nothing safer than that.

a funny story about Hotmail from a comment up there-
I was giving my friend my e-mail and he's like,
    "It's M-A-I-L right?"
    and I say
    "Yeah, M-A-L-E is gay porn."
and a few minutes later he's like
"OMG IT REALLY IS GAY PORN!!!"
    "...You didn't believe me?"

    lol that really is funny!!!

Another point is, if you have your own login on the computer you're using then your bookmarks, forms, etc are all private anyways and won't appear on another user's browser. Sometimes best if you have an administrator setting though, since if you have a lower account and your family members know what they're doing... they can still go snooping.

with firefox you can just press ctrl-shift-del and it deletes all of the private data. Useing that alongside no-one else in the family using firefox on a regular basis has helped me lmao:icon_bigg
