Are there similar dating sites for teens under 18? - Empty Closets - A safe online community for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender people coming out

I posted this before and never really got any answers... Are there sites for teens to meet other teens? More like a dating sites or finding friends site for teens. Alot of dating sites or other sites used to find other gay's in your area are for 18+... Any suggestions? I know of one that I have been using. Its a chat room, but I am just tired of people looking for a way to just get off and nothing serious.

I don't think there's a dating site for straight kids, even, ahah.

The best you can do is network, but that isn't safe anywhere on the internet, sadly.

How would I network? I know sites like EC limit you to not providing anything as simple as a screen name or email...

I can only think of two at the moment, but I wouldn't really use them. It's more or less just underage porn and such. It's quite disgusting, really. I'd stay away. It's the same for alot of the straight sites as well.

Oh, just keep in mind that EC used to be like that. They changed it for a reason.

You can still network here and send your email and screen name to people who you feel should have it. I got a bunch of messages from people I didn't know back when we were allowed to have our contact information in our sidebar.

It's for safety.

Please do not post links to any off-site profiles or any other off-site contact details. This includes Bebo, Facebook, Myspace, YouTube, Photobucket, phone, email, Skype, gaming ID and messenger IDs such as MSN, AIM, Yahoo etc. Anything that can be used to identify you or contact you off-site is not allowed here. You are also not permitted to link to any Chat Rooms outside of Empty Closets, regardless of whether they are anonymous or not. This applies everywhere public on Empty Closets, including forum posts, wall messages, profile, signatures, blogs, comments, chatroom etc.

Any such posts will be deleted and the poster will be banned for at least ONE MONTH.

I know of a couple of gay teen chat rooms, but to be honest, the ones I've found seem to consist almost entirely of older men wanting to talk sexually or webcam with young teenage boys. I haven't come across any under-18 dating sites.

Not that it helps you, but there is a site for under 25yo's in Australia called ozlounge, which im a member of... and yeah, its good, ive got talking to quite a few people from there, going to meet the first of them next week :P

Sadly near all gay dating sites (I'm talking 18+ ones) almost immediately generate into hookup sites, and even the so-called "like-myspace-but-gay" sites are just gross; pictures of penises as people's mail profile pics, that sort of thing.

I don't know why, but gay men seem almost incapable of thinking of anything but sex. I'm sure it would be pretty much the same thing in any under-18 gay dating sites.

And, has been previously stated, it's sad, but I suspect any under-18 gay dating site would almost immediately be overrun by older guys looking for younger guys.

I know a number of people who have had good luck finding good people on Myspace and Facebook. Just be cautious when meeting anyone for the first time; I recommend asking to see them on webcam or, if they have no webcam, asking them to send you an oddball pic, something that they'd have to make just for you, such as holding a can of soup while making a funny face or something. That way, they can't impersonate somebody else using their pics.

If they have a million excuses as to why they can't do this, they probably aren't real. But even if you verify identity, always best to meet in a public place first, and if you have the slightest concern, to bring a friend along as well.

The closest thing I can think of is not somewhere you would ever want to be - I used to camwhore for older men a bit on there. I know exactly how stupid and dangerous that is, yes. And I certainly wouldn't advise it.

Awesome advice. Other than that, most sites say 18+ because that is the general legal age of majority (if you remember, minors are not supposed to be having sex, ideally, same with adolescents

It would be loaded with pedophiles
Sued daily
People would lie about who they are/what they look like
I'd be used for hook-ups a ton
So much would be wrong with it that I'm sure one doesn't exist and if it does I'd stay pretty far away from it since my list above isn't even 1/2 of the things that would go wrong with a site like that
