So I've just started college and I'm about four hours away from home. My friend invited me to a LGBTQ meet and greet tomorrow evening on campus, and I accepted. He invited me totally unprompted, which kind of makes me happy because I kinda dig my obviousness. Haha. But yeah. I'm going to be incredibly nervous, but also excited.
Great I hope you'll have a nice time. It's a good occasion to make friends and start a social life on your campus. Have fun !
That's awesome! I'm really glad that you 'kinda dig your obviousness.' A lot of people wouldn't be happy to be invited. I'm glad you are - that's the right attitude to take!
Joining my universities GLBT group was one of the best things I did! I made some TRULY valuable friends and became more confident in my sexuality then I ever thought possible. University is that time where you finally feel yourself being defined as a person. And it all starts with joining a club here, (going to a club there) *cough*, and getting involved with people who love you for who you are.
Thanks for all the support guys! I went and I was infinitely more relaxed than I had anticipated. It was pretty low key - just a mingle session followed by a few club presentations. I met a few people and befriended them on Facebook, so that is pretty exciting! So now I'm out to, what, 50 people at college? haha
