I been having some disturbing nightmare horror movie type dreams (which are kinda cool) for the past few days.

First one; naked erotic satyrs, necromancer chasing me from my computer, and a guy trying to drown me in a pool in a hotel. Bunch of sex in the hotel.

second one; casino of death with witches and fat gothic women, a private jet doing a mystery case, a bus of decay, and Kate Moss with three beautiful models and Kate Moss was the ugly one out of the group.

She didn't speak though since I just know her as a model, so I have no clue who she really is, I just know its Kate Moss.

Does this mean anything about me? Or it is just a coincidence I am having weird dreams.

As far as I know, there aren't any sort of valid scientific studies that show that dreams are correlated to anything subconscious or latent. Usually one dreams about A) What they're thinking about around the time they fall asleep or B) An event that has happened or is going to happen

Anything like what you've mentioned been on your mind/happened to you lately?

Dreams are normally just that, dreams. They might have some meaning, but, symbols in dreams are often exclusive to the person who's dreaming them. If you can't think of any meaning for it, it probably doesn't have any.

If anything, the dreams that mean something are the dreams where you yourself act in the dream. If you dream someone is chasing you, that's fairly normal. If you dream you are chasing someone, that might mean something.

I've talked to a number of people, and your dreams aren't too far out of the normal range. So, you're probably fine.

    Lay off the cheese.

    Sensible hat on now.

Dreams are just the mind unwinding really. They don't mean a thing IMO. I have some strange dreams but nothings come of them.

I want your dreams. All I dream about is... I can never remember.

mine are often very disturbing. i don't think it means much though... just learn to let them be what they are. i don't think it pays to overanalyse dreams.

I will have to strongly disagree with the "dreams are just dreams, not reality", "dreams have no connection with the reality", "ignore it" remarks.

Being in the same position (I will extend on the reason, later) as the OP (Jack) I can totally relate with how Jack feels. Saying to "ignore" these dreams is easy, but very difficult to follow the same advise if you were on our shoes.

Science may not have an apt explanation dream (how it happens, why it happens, etc) and while the belief that dreams shows up our future is just that - it is a belief, science does agree with the notion that dreams are caused by one's psych - hence, one's self is reflected on one's dreams.

I do not know much about you, Jack, but from your profile, I can see you are not out as well, and that is what I think binds us alike. The way I see it, the revolting dreams that I have (having a hundred eyes on my chest, eating lizards, being stabbed to death by my own family, drinking blood, etc) are the product of the fragile state of my mind, and that is what I assume is happening with you as well. The type of dreams you listed, have death as a very common symbol, and that might be a symptom of your insecurity (correct me if I am wrong). I think every closeted gay feels the same way - insecured. And insecurity is what drives one to have such dreams.

I hope everything sorts out soon - for both of us. Don't hesitate Contact me if you want to. Discussing the issue together may solve a lot of it. As for advise...don't know what to say as I am in the same boat...well, if possible (and if you feel you really need it) have a session with a psychologist, and see what he/she tells you. I know a forum that specialize in dreams studies - you want the link?

And for those who wishes to be on the same boat as the OP - pray that you are not. Having such revolting dreams frequently is not something to take lightly, and not everyone is strong enough to deal with it either.

It's not about upsetting. If you have such revolting dreams every night, then there sure is something not quite right about your state of mind.

Usually I would tell you everything I know about dreams, but I'm actualy exhausted at the moment - will try summarise:

Dreams show us the sorting of our thoughts in the subconscious while we're asleep because the body rests, restores, and then powers up while we're asleep. Many researchers have depicted the meanings of each "dream symbol" (every separate idea in a dream, such as "computer" "man" "water" "sex" "necromancer/spellcaster/wizard/"). Deal with each idea in your dreams as a separate dream symbol. Get a piece of paper and use this dream dictionary to discover what your dreams are trying to tell you.

Usually nightmares occur when a distressing issue remains unresolved in conscious life - that's why nightmares may re-occur and children (learning to have to grow up) experience nightmares more commonly. The same website as above has this to say about nightmares:

That's all I can muster for now. I hope it helps you. Good luck:thumbsup:

I don't think this is always necessarily true, my dreams have been bizarre and disturbing my whole life regardless of whether or not i'm contented or in bad shape. i suppose it must be different for everybody.

I have tragic dreams. They get so bad that I flinch or jump out of bed. They're usually centered around me falling off of a tall building or cliff. I don't even have vertigo!

I used to get those dreams. Where you fall then you wake up as if you have been dropped into bed. My mum said to me that there was a special name for them and they do have a meaning. Something about a extreme state of relaxation.

i usually dream about me killing people, or watching people die in horrific ways. and i always know the person, sometimes its my family and other times my close friends. it used to freak me out and i would wake up in a cold sweat and not be able to go downstairs until it was light becasue i was frightened someone would jump out and kill me. but now i just kinda live with it. it still happens, but i just go back to sleep.

Thanks, yeah I feel insecure but my personal life isn't bad enough for a psychiatrist lol. I can't remember much of my dreams this week, since I haven't slept long enough to have one yet.

If I look at my dreams, I am searching for love in a lot. Sad to say, I have more experience in love in my dreams than my real life.

They come with the good and the bads.

Aw, okay then. I apologise if I sounded like questioning your personal life - that wasn't my intention. I think the "revolting" dreams I have are based on my own insecurity (as to how my family and loved one's would react when my sexuality is thrust upon their face), so I thought it must be the same for you (seeing that you are not out either).

Totally know what you mean about having beautiful dreams, especially the one's that includes love or sparks of romantic moments. For those who can never fall in love or get into a romantic relation, dreams can be a great escape.

A beautiful dream makes my day - and I'm sure it does to everyone as well.

    Take care.

i think part of it is that dreams represent what your fearing or wanting. at least thats how it is for me. i don't want my parents to get divorced so what do i dream of? youth counseling. that dream ruined my week-- until i had my fantasy realized in a dream. i think they your bodies way of telling you that you're stressed out.
and then you sometimes just have weird dreams for no reason.

For me, dreams - good, bad, or meaningless ones - are extremely important. Don't think dreams happen without any reasons. But maybe that's just me.
