So I sent a friend, who happens to be gay, a message on facebook. We have not talked in about 5 months and it was completely random of me to send him a message. I basically just asked for advice in coming out. I hope this ends well.
Congratulations on telling him! I'm sure that he'll understand. Especially if he's gay himself. And what better way than sending him a message like this to get back in touch?
