i need help with coming out to like family and friends. also explaining that im a furry without like ruining anything. any advice?
Hi there and welcome to Empty Closets! You don't provide a lot of information, but lets start with some of the general points. Usually it is easier to start with a couple of friends who you trust and know would be accepting and supportive. Maybe try to think about one friend who you know would be accepting, and take it from there. Do you go to school? If so, then maybe it would also be a good idea to talk to a counselor. Their support throughout your coming out process can really help. A counselor can be an important part of you support network, and can give you some guidance during your coming out process. Teachers are also a good person to come out to and can part of your support network. The more support you build around you the 'easier' your coming out process will become. A strong support network will also give you something to fall back on if you need support or just someone to talk to in real life. If you are not sure as to how your friends and family will react, then maybe it would be best to start with a counselor. But always remember that coming out is not a race that needs to be won. Take your time. The most important thing during your coming out is that you are comfortable with yourself and with the coming out process. I hope this helps a bit. (*hug*)
