Does anyone else ever feel like they're a little disconnected from reality?

I've been feeling like that for the past week or so. Like things are happening but I'm just like in a haze or something. I don't know it is so weird. Like with conversations with friends, listening to people, just I'm not connected with things like I should be. And I can't snap out of it. Even when I try I still feel like I'm just floating through the motions.

I don't know if it's just because I'm tired or what. And people have been commenting on how I look different, I wonder if my vacantness has something to do with it.

So am I alone with this ever happening or have some of you been through it too?

My partner have a term we use - "gauzy". It's when you're experiencing life as if through a layer of gauze. Like an old radio station that isn't QUITE tuned in all the way. It most often happens to me due to a physical cause, like when that cold medicine hasn't worn off all the way. But I've had days where I simply feel like I'm going through the motions. Not all that common, but they do happen.

You mention being tired. Perhaps that'd be the best place to work on getting over it. To wit, turn the damn computer off and go to bed already.

If you imagine everyone in the world placed within a circle, getting on with their lives (going to work, socialising, building relationships, etc), I feel like I'm stood on the outside of that circle watching everyone live their lives.

It could be a lot of things. Stress, lack of sleep, medication, illness (even a bad cold or flu). Most likely lack of sleep, though. I've gotten about 6 hours of sleep in the past 72 hours... so if it's any consolation, I'm on the "outside of that circle watching everyone live their lives", too. I know the feeling.
