I saw on the HRC website, and some other sites that you should come out to your doctor. How nessicary is it that my pedatritian know I am gay? Just wondering.

  2. Thats a little....strange. I don't see a need to unless you knew him really well or something. Other than that I wouldn't consider it necessary really.

It's important if you've become sexually active. If you aren't, then there really isn't a need to tell your doctor.

Well, I told my doctor I was gay. I don't know, I just felt like he should know.

Actually it is not necessary unless you are sexually active and have a chance of exposure to problems, such as in males, Urinary tact infections, Anal itch due to reactions to lubes or latex. It helps sometimes to know to zero in on a problem faster. Other than that, it really isn't necessary as long as you answer history questions honestly.

I think it is a good idea to let them know. They should if you are planning on sexually active, like Jim1454 said. Plus it is just good for them to know in my opinion. Espicially if they are cute ^_^

If your lucky, your doctor will just ask you what your sexual preference is while he's filling out some sort of form. That's what mine did. We've never actually talked about it, but I'm not sexually active (or even in a relationship :dry:slight_smile:, so I don't worry about it.
