Good job! It takes a lot of guts to quit smoking. Trust me, I had it pretty rough when I quit.

The best things to do are to keep yourself entertained. When I have things to do, it always keeps my mind off smoking. So find something you enjoy to do, and when those cravings kick-in, jump to your task.

I'm the same position. I just quit too, about 4 or 5 days ago. I find the easiest thing is to just not have cigarettes on me at the moment. Not be around people who smoke and do things differently. Other changes in routine are helping me to quit because it's not the only thing I'm doing differently.

I had two friends quit who swore by origami. You might give that a try.

I know of people who get cinnamon sticks from the spice aisle in the supermarket and carry them around. You can hold them, you can stick them in your mouth, it helps with the biorhythm you develop as a smoker. Only downside is, your hands might smell like cinnamon buns

Try keeping them away from you at all times. Leaving them at home when you go our or even just throwing them away works too. Just force yourself to get rid of them no matter how much you don't want to (at the moment).

Have you seen those ads for the fake cigarette? It is the shape and size of a cigarette, but at the same time isn't one. It also has fake smoke xD .

How about playing music instrument? Might keep the hands occupied.

  14. I was going to say maybe getting a guitar but it looks like I was beaten to it by darkestknight. Carrots might help too. My high school history teacher used to carry a bag of baby carrots around and chew on them constantly.

You have to be strong! Try again, Jonny. You have to have the will power and want to stop and it will come the more you don't smoke. Tell your friends what you are trying to and im sure they are willing to do the nasty to not allow you to smoke!

The worst part (from what I've heard) is being in the presence of other smokers while they smoke. If you're going out with friends, and they're going to smoke outside, don't go with them. Stay inside and resist the temptation to go "keep them company" or go where the fun is.
