Don't freak out! I did and I almost failed twice! Be calm.

I don't know if you can do this in LA, but one thing I did before I took the test is I found out the route you go on. For me it was just down some city street with one stoplight and then a neighborhood with a culdesac. It was so much easier than I thought it would be.

And be extra nice and polite to the tester! Good luck!

    Radio down (or off) lol.
    Both hands on the wheel.
    Do the speed limit!
And pay attention to all the signs.

I'm sure traffic in LA is uh.. not the best. So just be careful out there! Don't be so nervous either. It's not as bad as you think. I failed my permit test twice but passed the driving test first try! Haha.

Don't ask if you can "hit the drive-thru" while you're out.

Don't slip your instructor a five-dollar-bill, hoping it'll improve your chances.

When the instructor says "Turn left here", don't hold up both hands, making Ls with your thumbs and forefingers, trying to determine which one is left.

Don't tell your instructor that you think the stop signs with white borders are "optional".

When you see a pedestrian, don't rev the motor and say "double points if they're running!"

    ...that's all I got.

I recently took my driving test. Just relax and try not to be nervous (that worked for me) .

Just relax and focus on the road. Good luck!

Also, when changing lanes, make sure you signal and check all your mirrors before you start merging in to the other lane. I got some points marked off for that one.

This. They're such Nazis about the mirrors. Be sure to be checking them even when you're just driving straight.

Also, MAKE A FULL STOP. They're Nazis about this too. Count 3 seconds when you stop and look left, right, and left again. You won't be doing this after you pass the test so just hold the urge to drive like a normal person until you pass.

Not only do you make a full stop and do a three count while looking both ways twice, stop AT the stop line or even with the stop sign, then creep up to the actual intersection so you can see. I damn near failed my driving test because the bitch said that I ran every stop sign, when in fact I came to a complete stop at every intersection instead of every stop line that's two car lengths back from the actual intersection.
