I'm going to keep this short and sweet. I just found out my friend is in the hospital with dka. I found that to mean, Diabetic Ketoacidosis. She's a type 1 diabetic. Does anyone know anything about this? Is it really serious? Should I be insanely worried?
I have several diabetic friends (and I'm partnered to one), but never heard of this particular term. A quick glance online makes it sound like once your friend is under a doctor's care, the immediate danger will have passed. So I wouldn't worry too much. Lex
I don't know much about specific diabetic conditions, but i do know that thousands of people live it, so as long as she takes care of herself she should be fine.
