1st of all, base on his question, he wanna comfort you not to be scared, taht means it's ok to be gay if he already knows you are gay, so taht means he maybe gay too
(but or a straight guy who is ok with gay people)

BUT why didnt he send the letter to you by himself, or talk to you face to face, taht means he is nervous as well, when a guy is nervous about nother guy, he must have some emotion for that guy, or he is gay

Sounds to me he has taken a bit of the intuitive and broken the ice so to speak. I would consider it a means of saying he is interested in you but couched in such a way as to be able to give another explanation should you reject the idea of him being gay. But would definitely follow up on it. It actually sounds promising.

Well, he is either sick or is really worried about the note he sent you.

The best way to stop worrying is to take a course of action. You could send him a note, through the friend who gave you his note, just saying Hi, how ya doin, haven't seen you around much this week.

That's pretty neutral but shows that you have noticed his absence, ie that you care.
