Recently Came Out to my close friends & immediate family

Hi, Im new to this site and thought I'd post here for some advise/support.

I finally decided to Come Out to my immediate family (Mother & Brother) & my closest friends. I'm happy to say that they were all awesome about it Although my brother doesn't really understand, he's still supportive. I also plan to tell the rest of my family the next time there's a family get together.

I've known i was gay for quite a few years now (since High School), but have been afraid to Come Out sooner. Im a very self-concious & shy person, and the atmosphere of my High School was very judgemental which caused me to close up. I realised recently that keeping my orientation a secret has been having a very negative effect on my personality and self esteem. This is mainly due to the fact that I'm a very caring person, and because Ive known i was gay since high school and have kept it hidden so long, ive never been in any real relationship (I didnt want to 'use' a girl to hide my orientation).

Here's the thing, I only know one other gay person at work. He's the only one at work right now who I've told, and we've talked a few times about our experiences, but I'm still a little lost.

I was wondering if anyone here had some advice they could share with me, I'd really appreciate it!

Come to think of it, im not to sure either why im lost. Its just a feeling Ive got. Probably due to me coming out I guess disregard that part, its something ill get around soon enough.
