Setting my FB profile to: Interested in: Men and Women, it's a start, but not fully true yet.. I'm going to see how it goes, and if it goes well, i may change it later on.. any other advice on what to do? I haven't directly told anyone and don't really want to... but just posting it here..

Confused about one thing, you said men and women - yet on here your orientation is gay? If it is men and women, you're actually bi... just something to watch out for when asked about it. But, congrats dude.

Ian- That's why i said it was 1 step towards it. I'm pretty sure i'm gay, it's legit on here, only half way on FB, i'm taking small steps.

Byo- Yeah, that's why i'm scared to do it... i play Boys volleyball and am in band.. but it's whatever

Great first step! After I came out to my mother I changed my FB status to interested in women. Was a happy day for me to finally be myself. Good luck!

haha yeah. i mean, i never really told anyone. if anything, i never hide anything, so i'll just bring up my boyfriend in a conversation without thinking, and they'll be, like, you're gay??" some people place a LOT of emphasis on coming out by sitting someone down and talking to them. i've just never thought of doing that. my business is my business; if someone wants to know, they can ask me themselves; i'm not gonna go out of my way to talk to everyone. lol

Exactly.. they can come to me, cuz i'm not going out to people being like IM GAY EVERYONE! LOOK AT ME! YAY! :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: they can come ask me, even if my FB status is set the way it is.

haha yuss. i've personally never been too fond of people making coming out to be a big deal. as for when it comes to dating, i do the same if i like someone. i ask. if they say they're gay or bi, my heart always jumps a little. lol.

Then it's better to just have nothing on there, indicates the exact same thing. I've seen both bi and gay guys do that. This is part of the reason why some people claim we're mythological creatures and don't exist. Because non-bi guys say they're bi then change over. I'm a legit bi guy and can attest to that stepping stone making it harder for the rest of us. So as one LGBT person to another, can you please not perpetuate that myth and find other ways around it?

Well, don't listen to others, because obviously they're also human and can be ignorant. They aren't anymore right than you are.
