Who knows there is nothing logical about people sometimes. Are these people you are out to or just people in general?

A lot of gay guys think I'm straight. A lot of straight guys, too. If it matters, I'll set them un-straight. No big deal.

I have this problem as well. Even when I attend Pride events as part of a lesbian group, most people still assume I'm straight. Especially the other lesbians. It's frustrating.

When straight people learn that I am involved in lesbian things, they assume I am gay. (They don't think so from the way I act, though.)

Lesbians are much more likely to not really believe me when I tell them I'm gay--at least since I got past my early 20s. (Before I was 25 or so, no one ever took me seriously at all when I said things that indicated I liked women.) Straight people mostly think that if you are telling them that you are gay, you are. There are some exceptions if they are close to you and don't WANT to believe it, but that's just denial.

Lesbians can be obnoxiously suspicious of anyone they think is a "fake" lesbian.
