I've only come come out to an online friend on a different website and my sister. I'm scared to tell my parents. You see they think that being gay is a choice when really you're born with it. I concerned that not coming out to them is doing more good then bad for me because lately I've gotten a bit of pain in my head (then again, I sleep very late at night). Is this stress that I'm feeling? Is it better for me to come out or stay in the closet? (My parents are christian scientists just so you know.)
Unfortunately its a common assumption. You could ask when they chose to be straight or why you'd choose to be a minority which is discriminated against if you think it'll help. Do you think they'd be supportive? I found a huge weight lifted off me when I told my parents so I didn't have to hide anymore but it all depends on you. Good luck and welcome to ec
