I want to ask out someone to go celebrate after the divorce but I've never asked a GUY out before. A little help here? I dont want it to be awkward and I want the "date" aspect to me more implied than stated.
Are you wanting to ask out someone who is getting divorced or are you getting divorced? Never been in this situation BUT if I was going to approach someone who is newly divorced, I would probably take it slow and be less 'datey' at first until we hung out quite a few times and got to spend quality time together..then I would make my intentions clearer.
I'm getting divorced, and I have know the friend since 5th grade but we never got so close that it was sibling ish... we've always flirted back and forth.... and me and my (soon to be ex_ husband have been seperated MONTHS....
If you've flirted before, it could be easy to imply your intentions from the get-go, but I still say take it slow...hope I'm helping? :/
You can phrase it a variety of ways. Suggest that you do something date-ish, but say you want to "hang out" instead. Like, "let's go get some coffee and hang out sometime." Maybe something a tad smoother than that, but hopefully you get the idea.
If you hang out a lot as friends, one-on-one, I think you pretty much have to go ahead and spell it out. Otherwise it's just going to be confusing. If you don't, then just inviting him out just the two of you is probably enough.
I think it depends how often you generally spend time one on one with him, and how you would normally suggest you hang out as mates?
Oh ok then I think you can be more subtle. You could just say 'hey do you fancy hanging out sometime?' or if you want to make reference to your divorce then perhaps, 'hey now that my divorce is coming through, I feel like going out to dinner, will you join me?' or even 'I really enjoy your company, can we get together sometime'.
I ended up texting " can I ask you something?" "Sure" "1) are you single and 2)if your not would you like to do something sometime..." He said yes We're going bowling tomorrow
He ended up having to work all night... we're going to try to go tomorrow night (thursday) but we'll see how that goes
