Does anyone know that as soon as people find out a person is transgender, they immediately assume that it takes the place of sexuality?

Wow.....I worded that terribly. I meant to say, why is it that as soon as people find out someone is transgendered, they automatically assume that it is their sexuality. As in, someone could be gay, straight, lesbian, bi, pan, etc, but it is ignored and they're just seen as trans.

That's kind of an interesting point, maybe people can't handle two things at once? I don't really know :/
