I wish to come out to my mother in at least two stages by educating her about GID/GenderDsyphoria and what categories there are that people usually fall under before telling her that i'm trans. The problem i'm having is that everything i'm finding online immediately starts talking about transexuals and sex changes which would make things far too obvious which is too much information. I would like her to understand it as much as possible regarding how gender flies and how people with GID feel before telling her what category I fall under. I plan to send an email or PM on facebook with a link and a short message as the first stage, and then go all out afterwards. The best website that i've found so far is this one but it makes it a little too obvious as it only gives transexual examples. Anybody able to help me find a better webpage that explains all of this stuff? The wikipedia page looks alright based on skimming through it a bit but three crossdressing categories near the top with a picture showing an old man in a dress kinda ruins it.
PFLAG: Parents, Families, & Friends of Lesbians and Gays There are some pdfs there that might fit your needs.
I don't think those would fit my needs for "stage 1" of coming out but thanks anyways. I wanna do it tonight but I may have to settle for tomorrow if I don't change my mind.
Here are a couple of GREAT sites from when I started researching for my transition: Transsexual Road Map & http://susans.org/. This page on Susan's Place Transgender Resources may be helpful for you Coming Out . I hope these are helpful! I know there are some great clinical articles on Susan's that are written by some really knowledgable people about the process, some of them psychologists & other doctors. These were two of the most helpful sites for me!

I sent the email over an hour ago, i've been in bed with watery eyes and a few tears trying not to cry ever since. Gonna watch some anime to take my mind off this stuff.
She went to bed before I sent the message last night (12:05am) and will likely not see it untill tonight after coming home from work... Had only two hours of sleep and now i'm just counting down the hours...
Just talked to her on windows live messenger for a couple hours, she doesn't understand it completely yet and I accidently deleted a wall of text that took 40 minutes to type that explains a lot... but she is being very supportive. We're keeping all communications online even though we're in the same house because I told her its too hard to talk in person about this. Here's an example of the conversation.
We haven't talked since that night, I created an essay sized document explaining feelings/history and how i wish to transition but I couldnt send it last night. She sent me this email this afternoon, I read it only a few minutes ago.
