Well, I'm kindof down and depressed. I'm just despairing of being able to make meaningful changes to my life for the better. You'd think I'd be a little bit more up with the anti-depressants. *sigh* This can happen, right? Someone just hug me and tell me it'll be better.
Anti-depressants take a long time to kick in. Weeks to months, and then only if they're the right ones and in the right amount. My psychiatrist fiddled with my anti-depressants for eight months before we settled on my current regimen, and then a month or two more before I started feeling the full effects. That's a major reason why medication is a supplement to, rather than a replacement for, therapy and basic self-care. Still, if you aren't feeling the effects, talk to your provider about it, ask what a reasonable time frame is before you'll start seeing results. And feel free to ask me here or in a PM if you want more info about treatment for depression.
This, again. Cause it's true. But seriously, don't feel too bad. You WILL be able to make changes in your life. They'll probably just take time. Want to say more about what changes you're planning on making?
Nate, Let me say ditto to the last two posts they are right on point. In fact if you are early into your prescription they may actually make you feel down for a bit before they do make things better. Hang in there buddy and don't let the downs make you do anything drastic. Trust me it will get better.
It gets better, I promise you. (*hug*) Just try to relax, maybe drink some green tea, or even kick up some music and have a little fun. Whatever works best for you. And we're here for you. Promise. :icon_wink
Thx for the kind words and well-wishes everyone! Today is a better day ... I certainly appreciate the support.
