My diamond in the rough asks me why he is gay. Is there a proper response? I've told him: because he is; that it doesn't change who you are, just who you sleep with; most people won't care and the ones who do weren't your friends anyway. And I told him that i'm gay too since we're both guys who love to have sex with each other and have feelings for each other. Is there anything else I can say? I know he is struggling with accepting it and himself. He even said "god ik we have to come out with this". So I think there could be some hope for us. But idk what's better to say....
Ask him to do some thorough soul searching. Asking himself who am I and who do I like. But most importantly tell him that the one thing you have to be in life is honest with yourself. If he truly is gay there's nothing wrong with that, what matter is being true to himself, not what others want him to be!
